this past week an 18 yr old guy died from heat exhaustion. He fell out while his troop was doing their exercises and they rushed him to the hospital but he died anyway.I don't understand how they can want and make ya wear full gear to exercise in this heat.I mean come on now there has to be a compromise or at least I hope there is.My heart goes out to his family and may God have mercy on his soul..try to stay cool guys and your in my prayers.

`I HATE TO SAY IT SOUTHERN BUT THE TRAINING IN FULL GEAR IS VERY NECESSARY , FT. JACKSON IS NO WHERE NEAR AS HOT AS WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE IN IRAQ OR EVEN HOTTER U.S. STATES YOU JUST HAVE TO STAY HYDRATED AND THE MILITARY DOES HAVE WHAT IT CALLS THE CAT SYSTEM WHERE YOU ROLL UP SLEEVES AND LEGS TO STAY COOLER AND THEY ACTUALLY MAKE YOU DRINK WATER TO KEEP YOU HYDRATED . BUT THIS DOESN'T TAKE AWAY FROM THE LOSS OF ANOTHER SOLDIER , GOD BLESS HIM & HIS FAMILY .

`Sorry to say it I do agree with 11b. I was at Fort jackson in 07 but it could have been set on by not hydrating like he was supposed to. There is always a risk honestly. I can say that the "cat system" I've never used but you are right no one can replace the loss of a fallen comrade. God bless his soul and may the lord be with his family in these tough times
